Molang Kindness Club: Enjoying the moment with The Fast

In this new episode of Kindness Club, Piu Piu feels a bit overwhelmed 😵💫 - there are so many cool events going on at the same time! A concert? An eclipse? But how do you choose?! 😱 Piu Piu is afraid of missing the event of a lifetime!
Luckily, The Fast ⚡ is there to come to the aid of our two favorite YouTubers! Even with blazing speed, can you really do it all? Spoiler alert: No. And that's okay! 💛
Why are we afraid of missing an event?
Leading an active life, with a busy schedule and thousands of things to accomplish, can be both highly stimulating but also stressful, especially when you're trying not to miss anything.
FOMO (Fear of missing out) refers to the fact that we can get scared or anxious about missing out on something. Like Piu Piu, who insists on taking part in all kinds of activities.
This anxiety is often accompanied by feelings of guilt or exclusion. You feel you're missing out on something, that you're not living life to the full, that you're less active than others.
This is probably due to social pressure, particularly through social networks, which pushes us to know everything, do everything, be everywhere at once. Just like Michelle Yeoh’s character in the movie Everything Everywhere all at once, have you seen it?
We can quickly become overwhelmed by this injunction to be all there is. This is the problem Piu Piu encounter when they have to choose between seeing an eclipse and attending a concert. In the end, they choose to do both, which spoils their experience.
Taking your time isn't all bad (and it feels good)
Making the most of a busy life doesn't necessarily mean you have to do EVERYTHING. You have to accept that sometimes you miss an exhibition, a birthday party or a concert, and that's no big deal. But you obviously can cuddle your Molang & Piu Piu cute plushes AND play with your Molang blind boxes figures!
Putting ourselves under pressure or imposing a frantic pace on our lives can end up ruining our moment. As The Fast says in the episode: “In the end by being everywhere you are nowhere”.
Taking your time also means taking care of your mental health. Learning to preserve yourself, to take time for yourself, to slow down from time to time without feeling guilty about it: like Piu Piu who finally chooses to spend a relaxing evening with Molang.
It's possible to go against the grain of FOMO by opting for JOMO (joy of missing out). The idea of JOMO is simply to find joy and contentment in giving up or missing out on activities. The aim, if you feel the need, is to prioritize your own well-being.
The Fast's tips for enjoying the present
- Listen to your desires and choose one activity at a time (yes, just one, right Piu Piu?). ✅
- Keep doing what you love and really enjoy it. 😍
- To avoid feeling overwhelmed, slow down (I might change my name to The Slow) 🤔
- Practice writing “maybe next time” to your loved ones 📱
Where can you find help for your mental health?
If you or a Pinco you know feels overwhelmed by his or her emotions and can't keep his or her head above water, it's important to act quickly.
If you need help, first talk to those closest to you, whether family or friends, as their help can be invaluable. But sometimes the help of those close to us is not enough.
In this case, it's just as important to turn to medical professionals such as a psychologist or General Practioner.
